报告题目Singular limits of the compressible ideal MHD equations

报告摘要In this talk, I will review the main results of singular limits of the compressible ideal MHD equations including the low Mach number limit, small Alfven number limit and the three-scale singular limit. In particular, I will introduce the recent work on the low Mach number limit for the compressible ideal MHD equations in the domain with physical boundary conditions.

报告题目Incompressible and non-resistive limits of strong solutions to full compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations in bounded domains

报告摘要We justify the incompressible and non-resistive limits of strong solutions to full compressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations in general bounded domains, assuming the ill-prepared initial data. Previous works mainly focus on single-parameter limits (e.g., low Mach number limit) or multiple-parameter limits in the domains with flat boundaries. The novelty of this article is the uniform estimates of solutions in both the Mach number ϵ ∈ (0,1] and the resistivity coefficient ν = O(ϵ^β) with β ∈ (0,2). For this purpose, we establish a new weighted energy functional to control the fast variables and slow variables separately, and handle all high-order boundary terms and nonlinear terms. A significant feature in the estimates is the derivation of the weighted H^3-estimate of the magnetic field from the approximate solution which satisfies a crucial high-order boundary condition. The methods in this article also apply to other problems of singular limits vanishing multiple physical parameters. This talk is based on the joint work with Xiaoyu Gu.
